Gary C’s Guiding - Fly Fishing in Maine

We specialize in fly fishing northern Maine's remote waters. Where the Brook Trout still reigns

Northern Maine, Fly-fishing the way it used to be. Nowhere in the United States can you experience native brook trout fishing that will compare to that of northern Maine. The tradition of fly fishing in Maine is part of the States heritage. The first fly-fishing-only regulations were enacted  in 1953, and the brook trout fishery we have today, is a direct result of up to 50 years of these regulations on some Maine waters.

Fly fishing is our specialty. We fish over 25 different bodies of water for wild/native Brook Trout from mid-May through the end of September.

Fish from 20’ Old Town canoes on small outlying ponds throughout the fishing season, and wade rivers and streams early and late in the season.

There are many "fly fishing only" waters in this area that provide trophy Brook Trout fishing. Brook Trout weighing 2 and 3 pounds are not uncommon.

Fly fishing for Landlocked Salmon in rivers and streams is good in the spring, (May and early June, depending on water level,) and peaks again in mid to late September.
