We've been guiding hunters and anglers in Maine since 1980. In the early years, we guided out of remote locations using tents and canoes . In 1985 we went to work for our first set of sporting camps and guided anglers and hunters as employees of camps through 1997.
1998 was the year we decided to start our own guide service that would allow our clients to choose their guide first, and then decide which camp to visit.
Over the years, we've built a reputation and working relationship with a number of northern Maine’s finest sporting camps. These relationships allow us the privilege to book clients into the camps.
The advantage of taking you to a number of sporting camps throughout northern Maine, allows us the flexibility to suggest the camp that best fits your needs. Your interests are put first, for example, are fly-outs and out-camps important, do you prefer lakes and ponds or rivers and streams, are you an experienced angler whose interests lie in trophy brook trout, or a beginner looking for fast action? These concerns and more are addressed before we suggest accommodations.
We make all of the arrangements with the camps for you, from reservations, to special dietary needs. We’ll even schedule flying services to and from the camp of your choice or provide directions if you plan to drive.
Gary C’s Guiding is a full service guiding operation. We are not a sporting camp, but our services include much of the same assistance and support you should expect from any camp you intend to visit.
The sporting camps that we book our clients into are some of the best camps in Maine. These camps include: Orvis endorsed Libby Camps, the Bradford Camps located on Munsungan Lake, and the Red River Camps in the beautiful Deboullie area. If you choose to book your trip directly through the camps, it's possible to book our services. Just request our services when making your reservations. All of the camps use our services regularly when we have time available.

In addition to guiding hunting and fishing, we now offer instruction in fly-fishing, hunting in remote areas, and map, compass, GPS, and mapping software.
Our mapping courses compare to those taught for military use. In just three days we can give you the confidence, knowledge, and ability to become an expert in land navigation.
