Maine Whitetail Deer Hunting Information
Preferred
equipment:
Rifle 3006 or similar. Three common rifles used to hunt Maine Whitetail Deer
are (1) 3006, (2) 308, (3) 270. Suggested optics range from open sight, aim point
(or similar), to fixed or variable scopes 1.5 to 9. The average shot is
approximately 50 yards, therefore the equipment you are most comfortable with,
will in most cases be adequate.
Clothing:
As a hunter you should realize that your clothing is a very important
part of a hunt. We recommend layering with wool as an outer layer or some
similar quiet fabric. It goes without saying that consideration of your feet
and hands is important as well. Warm or insulated gloves and boots are
suggested.
If you have any questions concerning your equipment or clothing requirements please contact us.
